Harmony and Dissonance in Music and Life

April 2019

In music, harmony is when more than one musical note has a specific measurement to other notes, creating a very pleasant sound and feel.

Sometimes harmony is three notes played or sang together and at times, really creative producers, musicians or vocalists might add additional notes such as a what is called a 7th or 9th note. Whatever the technique used, harmony always use different notes to create one unified sound where the listener experiences a sort of euphoric peace from the beauty of the vibrational frequency of the harmonic sound.

If only people could somehow find this incredible balance within their differences but for some unknown but factual reason, humanity cannot do this.  They cannot look at the other that is different and blend what is unique about themselves to create harmony of life.

Yet, many will stand up in their house of religion and proclaim this as what their creator intended; and they will say yes they are for harmony but follow them to their cars, go into their homes, listen to their conversations and if only their true thoughts were exposed, it would be evident that they are liars. That they live in hate and despise those different than them. The reality of their disguised religious cry for harmony is really what is known in music as dissonance.

Dissonance is when a series of notes that do not belong together are played or sang together sounding like madness, almost like a scratching chalk on the board creating a sensation that incites a mental and emotional imbalance with an automated reaction to end it or to get away from it. Dissonance dominates our planet.

Human beings claim dominance over the earth.  If this is so, then why is it they cannot figure out why they so often choose to live in disharmony, war, destruction?  Why is it they cannot grasp the reality they are only on the planet as a visitor and will be forced to release everything they are so desperately trying to hold on and be demoted to the dirt which they walk on?

There will be no harmony probably ever but certainly there is no chance until humanity walks the earth with a daily cognitive and humble awareness that they are one step from becoming dirt…just like every other human being and that even the most powerful is destined to release all they hold on to, hate for, and cherish, as though it is eternal, to become soil.
